„figuratively in oil“

b. 1995, Germany
Lives and works in Munich (DE)
She specialized in realistic oil painting after studying at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Chung- Ang University in Seoul, and the Acadamy of Fine Arts Munich in the class of Karin Keffel since 2021. She sees it as her obligation as an artist to not only depict the times we live
in but also to question and reflect on them. She’s interested in the overall impact of a person, not in a capitalistic way. It‘s about something holistic that includes thought and imagination. And the story behind it. For her, painting figuratively in oil means picking up moments from everyday life that catch her eye and appeal to her, exploring them, holding on to them, and raising them to a higher level through long elaboration. What may appear to other eyes like an irrelevant fragment, becomes something special for the viewer through the artistic translation process. “Even though I paint figuratively, I do not paint what I see but what I feel.” She recently exhibited with Galerie Droste after presenting at the Eiermannbau Apolda and having her own solo exhibition, „Platonic Love“ in the Schießhaus Weimar. She additionally took part in an art auction in the Weserhalle in Berlin.
