„heterogenous and neo-surreal imagery“
b. 1994, Puerto Rico
Lives and works in New York (US)
New York based multidisciplinary artist Larissa De Jesús
Negron finds self evaluation through her intimate portraits and imagery. The artist invites the viewer to get lost in reflection and existentialism through her stylistically varied, richly textured, at times disorienting art. Her heterogenous and neo-surreal imagery is linked to the artist’s curiosity of the subconscious and Neuroticism. In healing and addressing her childhood and adult trauma through her work, Larissa creates extraordinary and often otherworldly spaces. These prosaic moments of despair, fear and excitement are brought to the eyes of the viewer as a cathartic way to connect.
After graduating with the highest honor her school can offer,
Larissa continued her education at The School of Plastic Arts in Old San Juan where she began majoring in Drawing and Painting.
After two years, she transferred to Hunter College in NYC where she got her BFA degree with high honors in 2017.
